Hydro Track Underwater Treadmill
The Underwater Treadmill is an above-ground individual pool that allows the patient to exercise while reducing pain and increasing flexibility and muscle tone. Every time you take a step, you put three to seven times the weight of your body on your joints. Take that same step in water, and the natural buoyancy of H2O gently lifts the pressure off your joints, while still allowing you to work your muscles. People with physical-limiting conditions are increasingly turning to aquatic therapy for pain relief and conditioning.
Ferno’s Underwater Treadmill System offers a wide variety of applications for the patient with superior outcomes, as compared to traditional land-based equipment and standard pools. The Underwater Treadmill is a heated, above-ground pool that allows the patient to enter with one small step. It operates as a forward motion or reversible treadmill at a variable speed of .5 mph to 7 mph. Included in the unit are dual-speed resistant jets and a digital display unit for the therapist to monitor speed, distance, and time.
Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy
Within the field of physical therapy, several specialties are based on manual manipulative techniques; one of these specialties, Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy (OMPT), is a certified therapy recognized by the American Medical Association.
OMPT takes a different approach to patient problems from that of traditional physical therapy. A traditional physical therapist focuses on treating a symptom. Often, this works fine. But some problems do not respond to traditional treatment because the symptom is caused by a problem located elsewhere. This is known as referred pain. Medical literature has documented that physical conditions not resolved with traditional physical therapy often respond to OMPT treatment. By utilizing this method of treatment, Physical Therapy Associates, LP, is able to quickly and effectively treat your symptoms at their source.

The standard level of care in the physical therapy field is focused on two things, evaluate and treat. Physical Therapy Associates, LP (PTA) raises your level of treatment beyond the norm by offering a transitional maintenance program. Once a patient’s physical therapy visits have concluded, this program gives each patient a 30-day free continuing recovery program at the WellStar Wellness Center. The program was enacted in order to give each PTA patient the maximum amount of recovery time in an elite workout environment overseen by Physical Therapists and Cooper Certified trainers. Should a patient wish to continue their program after 30 days or want to focus on other health areas, they may continue use of the WellStar Wellness Center on a membership basis.(Monthly memberships start for around the cost of just 1 insurance co-pay).
